Technology seems to be in state of constant evolution. New technologies are being developed all the time and the impact of this is immeasurable. In this modern time, we can now have access to more information and are able to share a lot of things, more rapidly than before. This is because we rely on electronic means of communication.
Generally speaking, the ability to communicate instantly is the top reason why people use electronic communication since all of us like an answer or feedback immediately. Second, cost is minimal or even free in some instance, you can send messages for different type of correspondence such as one to one, one to many or many to many. At the same time it is resource saving since you just simply compose the message using your electronic device, select the addressee and then click the send button rather than writing your message in the paper, have it stamped and have a trip to the post office and wait for a while for the response.
With the use of electronic communication it increases the interaction between and among people. Whereas individuals who have limited interaction with others due to some constraints yet they are willing to make an appointment. Electronic communication can give individuals access to others through video conferencing from the convenience of their locations.
Electronic communication introduces as the media-multitasking which allows a series of operation using multiple computer applications such as internet and word processing applications, multiple windows of the same application in terms of multiple instant message windows or even multiple attention targets in the same application window as in an action video game with multiple, often simultaneous things occurring at the different locations on the screen. Media-multitasking is the practice of using different media without restriction to a specific place and time.
Electronic communication can be an aide to overcome fear or discomfort of dealing with others or with some situations. Especially to those people who have anxiety, fear, a persistent phobia or nervousness before or during an appearance in front of an audience. Through the different medium available online they can engage in discussion and can freely express themselves.
Document sharing through online is even made easier which allow users to create and edit documents while in coordination with other users in real-time through the different online document sharing platforms such as Dropbox, Google Drive and the like.
With the utilization of electronic communication data can be stored in the devices for longer times, without being damaged, unlike paper files that easily get damages and destroyed. Discussions made online are lasting and can be revisited every now and then unlike verbal conversation, it cannot be documented unless you will be bringing a recorded with you.
Today, people are being more globally connected because of technology. There is no reason for us to be unaware and not to persist since information is accessible. Full use of electronic communication mediums and modern technologies are undoubtedly maximizing communication between and among individuals.
